Description
A Nisse was a mythical creature in Scandinavian folklore who was believed to keep the farmer and his family safe and protect them from misfortune. He was traditionally portrayed as a small, elderly man with a full beard and often with a twinkle in his eye. Although the Nisse were protective and helpful, they could also become quite mischievous if they were disrespected.Arne Hasle has been manufacturing Nisse dolls since 1958 and has produced some of the most charming examples of this Scandinavian elf.
This doll was made by Arne Hasle and is marked "Latex" on the bottom of his shoes. He is approximately 11 inches tall when stretched out into a standing position (not including hat), his body is bendable and able to hold just about any pose. The body is made of cloth with a molded, latex head and a rooted white beard. His traditional Norwegian clothing includes a blue white wool knit sweater, black wool felt knickers, red felt stocking hat and latex combined red knee socks with black shoes.
He is an appealing little fellow and in very good condition.
