    Description

    MG Midget III or Austin Healey Sprite IV,   ribcase transmission. I know little about this, it came along with a Bugeye I purchased from an estate.  It is clean, looks like it was destined to be installed at some point.  The input shaft has grinder marks between the pilot bearing surface and the splines.  It does not seem it would affect the operation and runs true.  A new input shaft is available from Peter May Engineering in the UK for under 0.  Everything else seems fine, it turns and shifts smoothly.  The ratios are closer than the street application. The first number is stock, the second in parentheses is the modified gearset.
    1st: 3.2 (2.573):1
    2nd:  1.916(1.722 ):1
    3rd: 1.357 (1.255):1
    4th 1.0 (1.0):1
    Sold as is as a parts transmission for now.  If it does not sell by the time I get to it, I will buy a new input shaft and disassemble/ rebuild.  Shifter not included.
